The Apostille Stamp is an official government issued Stamp applied to documents so they will be recognised and verified when presented in another country.
The Apostille Certificate is issued by the Country in which the document originates. Once a document has had an Apostille Stamp attached to it confirming the authenticity of the signatures and seals it can be presented to any country which recognises the Apostille Stamp. The authority receiving the document should then accept the document as the Stamp Authenticates the seals or signatures as true and valid without requesting further evidence or proof.
For some Countries the Apostille Stamp may not be enough to have the document Legalised for the specific Country, you can find out a list of these countries using this link: Embassy Legalisation
