UK Notary Services

A Notary, also known as a Notary Public, is very different to a Solicitor, Notaries are appointed by the Court of Faculties of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and their role is to verify legal documents.

Notaries do not provide a signature guarantee in the same way as a Medallion Guarantee but many documents do need to be signed in the presence of a Notary including but not limited to a Power of Attorney.

We recommend you call us to discuss your requirements, we will then be able to offer assistance and advise if the documents that you need Notarised must be signed in the presence of a Notary.

Notarising a Document

In order to Notarise a document a Notary Public will generally attach a Notary certificate which is then bound and sealed with ribbon to confirm the document has been notarised. If not attending our Notary’s office, in order to Notarise a document, the document must be sent to us by post, we recommend you send us a scan of the document first so that we may advise you on the exact requirements.

Certain documents, such as Companies House documents, need not be sent to us. This can drastically speed up our processing time. If you have any doubt over the level of service and what you need in order for us to arrange a Notary stamp don’t hesitate to call us.

Notary Signing

If you are required to sign the document you need Notarised then the document must be signed in the present of the Notary, do not sign the document then send it to us.

We will not be able to assist. If you do need a signature, then in order for our notary to assist you, you must bring photographic identification documentation as well as two forms of proof of address which must be dated within the last three months.

Contact us for further details, we are able to provide a list of required documentation.
