What is an apostille transcript?
You may not realise that your high school transcripts may need to be apostilled, but there are times when this is very necessary. For example, if you want to continue your education, obtain a long term visa, or work in another country, your school, college, university, or trade school transcripts may need to go through the apostille process.
If you aren’t sure whether this needs to be done, check for the original signature of the registrar and the notary public on the transcript. If this is already done, then you can send the transcripts to an apostille service. However, if this is not already done then you will need to arrange for it to happen. Each school has its own procedures, and these signatures may not be part of the system in your own place of education. It’s best to find out.
How do you notarize a transcript?
It is also important to find out what the requirements are of the country you are intending to work or learn in. Some countries (including Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia) are extremely strict when it comes to how the transcripts are presented and authenticated or even notarised. There are in fact additional steps that are needed for documents that are going to these countries.
